# Privacy and terms

Youcognito has short, plain-English **Privacy** and **Terms** pages, linked from the footer on every page:

* [youcognito.com/privacy](https://youcognito.com/privacy)
* [youcognito.com/terms](https://youcognito.com/terms)

The pages in the app are the official versions. Here's the short summary.

## Privacy in short

**What's stored** (only what the faucet needs to be fair):

* The wallet address you claim to, verify, or tip from
* Your Farcaster ID in the Mini App, so each account claims once a day
* Claim records: day, amount, streak and the Base transaction
* Listen sessions for the boost: start and finish times
* Your IP address, **only as a salted hash**, for rate limits and one-claim-per-day checks
* Tips and holder checks: the transaction or signed message that proves them
* Feedback survey answers, linked to your Farcaster ID or address so the thank-you gift is sent only once
* Short-lived request logs at Vercel (hosting)

**What isn't done:**

* Your data is never sold, rented or traded.
* No ad trackers and no third-party analytics cookies.
* Research sessions aren't kept. Your mission and the pages Youcog reads live in memory until you burn or refresh.
* Your custom ghost picture and soundtrack setting stay in your browser.

**Who helps run it:** Base (public network), Neon (database), xAI (research answers and voice), Vercel (hosting), Farcaster (sign-in in the Mini App), Black Forest Labs (art), GeckoTerminal and DexScreener (trade data), Google Fonts, and SoundCloud if the song plays through its player. The feedback page also loads a small script from grok.com (the extensions script of the app builder the app was made with).

Want a record removed? Email <ghost.youcog@gmail.com> from the account involved. On-chain transactions can't be erased by anyone.

## Terms in short

* Youcognito is an **experiment**. Features can change, break or disappear.
* **YOUCOG has no promised value.** Nothing here is financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
* The faucet is a **community giveaway while supplies last**. Amounts, bonuses and limits can change.
* **Play fair:** no bots, scripts or multiple accounts. Abusers can be blocked.
* AI answers can be wrong. Check anything important.
* Provided **as is**. Your wallet and keys are your responsibility.
